About the Presentation
From starting and managing small businesses to entering insurance information to making a donation to simply trying to listen to music on an MP3 player, Michael has observed people try to do things we designers take for granted. As it turns out, many of those participants were first-wave Boomers. And more often than you’d think, they used 4-letter words to describe their experiences.
In this talk, Michael will share:
- Stories and insights from observing and talking with Boomers
- Reasons why this audience is more important than they get credit for
- Cognitive and emotional pain points they experience
- Practical strategies and tactics for helping ensure this audience is considered in your work.

Whether you’re in dire need of an incredible art director, or you’re a brilliant account manager long overdue for a better gig, you are one step closer to fulfillment. So relax. Put down the frustrating pile of bad resumes. Close the crapshoot list of job openings on craigslist. And take a deep breath.
We’re blue plate minds, a creative staffing agency representing advertising and marketing professionals for freelance and permanent hire. But we’re different because we get it right. With 25 years in this business we know that mediocrity kills. That’s why we only represent the top five percent. We also know that a personal, hands-on approach with our clients and our candidates helps us create perfect matches. And when that happens, it’s euphoria all around.
