Joint UX Summer Picnic – Saturday Aug. 22nd

Please join PhillyCHI, UsabilityNJ, UPA Delaware Valley and PANMA for a summer picnic at Washington Crossing Historic Park. This event is free and open to the public.

Date and Time: Saturday, Aug. 22nd, 2009, 1:00pm (Event will be held on Saturday, rain or shine)
Location:
Washington Crossing Historic Park (General Washington Pavilion)

Lord Sterling Rd. and Embarcation Rd.
Washington Crossing, PA 18977
Google Map: http://tinyurl.com/mulvts
Park Website: http://www.ushistory.org/washingtoncrossing/visit/index.htm
RSVP: phillychi@gmail.com (Please indicate the total number of attendees)

Please join PhillyCHI, UsabilityNJ, UPA Delaware Valley and PANMA for a family-friendly affair (children and significant others are more than welcome). We’ve reserved a pavilion at Washington Crossing Historic Park, located right on the Delaware River. Feel free to bring Frisbees, wiffle ball sets, or any other items to add to the festivities. Park amenities include historic buildings, monuments, trails, scenery, etc. that you can explore before or after the picnic.

We have reserved the General Washington park pavilion, which is a covered pavilion with picnic tables and grills. Bathroom facilities are located next to the pavilion. Food and drinks will be provided by none other than Marilyn Tremaine from UsabilityNJ (we hear she’s a fantastic cook). The menu will accommodate children, vegetarians, and meat-eaters. It will also be appropriate for people with a variety of allergies and other dietary needs.

Please note that alcohol is not permitted in the park. Dogs are welcome at the pavilion as long as they are leashed (visitors must also clean up after their dogs).

Parking and Location Details:
There is no formal address for the pavilion. The most visible landmark is the pavilion’s bathroom, a small brown building which is located at the corner of Lord Sterling Rd. and Embarcation Rd. There is a parking area to the right of the bathroom along Embarcation Rd., and a sign next to the bathroom marked “General Washington.” Next to that sign is a short pathway leading to the pavilion.
